Additional living expenses
Your claims adjuster at Roy, Morissette & Associés will tell you what additional living expenses you can claim when you file your claim. He will also advise you on what evidence (invoices, receipts, rental contracts, etc.) to keep so that your relocation does not become an unnecessary financial burden for you and your family. Furthermore, he is the one who will take care of making the claim to your insurer and negotiate, in your favor, its outcome.
IMPORTANT:
There may be fees that you don't think about, but that you are entitled to. Your insurer won't think of them for you! For example: If you are relocated a greater distance from your place of work than before, you may be entitled to reimbursement for your extra mileage.
BUILDING CLAIM AND OUTBUILDING
Our team of estimators is able to comprehensively evaluate the extent of the damage to your property and the cost of repairing it to your advantage. At this stage, our team assesses the damage in its entirety. Our estimators take every corner of your home and estimate the cost of demolition, replacement of materials, the same as before the loss, and labor costs. Every switch, every foot of electrical wiring, every screw and every nail is added to your claim so that you receive substantial compensation and don't have to worry about running out of funds when rebuilding.
Afterwards, you will be offered the choice between reconstruction or an indemnity corresponding to the terms of your insurance contract. You will be able to make a free and informed choice based on the recommendations of a seasoned professional.
IMPORTANT:
The reconstruction of your home must meet the new national building code. Your insurer may pay for the reconstruction as it was before and charge you for the upgrade of your home if you did not purchase this coverage. Don't get caught!
CLAIM FOR MOVABLE PROPERTY
Our property inventory team specializes in claims and is busy cataloguing all of your property in great detail. For each property, a realistic replacement cost in today's value is assigned by our team of experts.
If your property has been destroyed or damaged too much to be identified, our team will assist you in counting the missing property. We have all the tools to help you make a complete list of your belongings from memory in order to research replacement costs later.
